Hanwha Vision in Bonn City

To optimize the passenger experience and increase security at central and peripheral train stations, more than 600 XNV-C9083R and XNP-9300RW IP cameras from Hanwha Vision.

SPIE, Independent European benchmark in multi-technical services, was selected as a partner for the implementation of a security system that would allow the maintenance of the Public transport network of the City of Bonn in continuous operation, Securing assets such as vehicles and equipment, and protecting passengers is a priority for the team. For the realization of the project, it was decided to Hanwha Vision as a technology provider.

The City of Bonn, in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, it houses more than 300.000 People. It is an important tourist destination, and the operator Stadtwerke Bonn Verkehrs (SWBV) transports about 92 million passengers through its bus routes, Train and tram lines. Keeping the public transport network in continuous operation, Securing assets such as vehicles and equipment, and protecting passengers is a priority for the team.

Central and peripheral train stations needed improvements to optimize the traveler experience and increase safety.

The following were selected: IP cameras models XNV-C9083R and XNP-9300RW for its quality and reliability. In total, more than 600 Cameras throughout the railway network to protect tunnels, Station Facilities, inputs/outputs, busy hallways and escalators/elevators.

Cameras provide real-time alerts, Driven artificial intelligence, to a Central Control Room, ensuring operators can respond quickly to events and emergencies. The Deep Learning Algorithms accurately detect and classify objects, as people, Vehicles, faces and license plates, differentiating them from irrelevant movements such as wind, Shadows and animals. This significantly reduces false alarms.

People counting tests can be used to prevent traffic jams and the risk of crowding, Improving the passenger experience.

The alerts also include possible unauthorized access to railway tunnels, Falls on train tracks or behaviors such as loitering, that could indicate safety issues or antisocial behaviors. As a result, passenger safety, especially in underground stations and car parks, Significantly improved.

Comprehensive coverage

The XNV-C9083R is a Vandal resistant dome camera with 4K resolution and AI capabilities, while the XNP-9300RW includes 4K resolution, 30x zoom, integrated wiper and a powerful PTZ system that provides high-quality images for evidence and allows scenes to be focused in detail.

The Adaptive Infrared Technology adjusts the angle of the camera's IR LEDs to the zoom level, providing clear images in low-light conditions.

The XNP-9300RW is designed for wide and open spaces, making it suitable for monitoring station lobbies and other public areas.

The Auto-tracking function AI-powered XNP-9300RW camera enables control room operators to efficiently monitor the movement of objects. With a simple click, can automatically lock on and track a person or vehicle.

Cyber resilience

Hanwha Vision Chosen for Its Commitment to Safe and Responsible Use of Video; Compliant with the U.S. National Defense Authorization Act. UU. (NDAA) and the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), in addition to the strict UL CAP certifications.

A dedicated team, The Security Vulnerability Response Center (S-CERT), Addresses potential vulnerabilities and works with customers to ensure the cyber resilience of their video systems.

These certifications provide the necessary confidence to customers and SWBV that the solutions are highly secure, and that all data collected is stored securely.

"Investing in an IP camera system that would provide us with key information was a priority in our railway improvement. Hanwha Vision Solutions, with its artificial intelligence capabilities and best practices in cybersecurity, stood out for our team. From its installation, The system has provided our control room with essential information to prevent crimes, improve passenger experience and safety, and inform our planning", comment from SWBV.

With cameras already deployed in underground stations and tunnels, The video system will be expanded to include the surface stations.
