Hanwha Vision Brings Video Analytics for Sports Training at CREPS
This public institution specialising in sport and public training in Bordeaux (France) has installed high-resolution 180° panoramic multi-sensor cameras of Hanwha Vision to improve player performance and preparation.
The Resource Center, Sports Experience and Performance (PANCAKES) of Bordeaux, Offers Specialized training in sport to some 450 Young Athletes in their Twenty-five training areas.
This public institution regularly receives delegations of French and international athletes who choose its facilities to prepare for major events, such as the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the World Championships and the European Championships.
In order to improve athletes' training and performance, CREPS managers have selected the Video analytics technology and cameras Safety Manufacturer Hanwha Vision, with which they can review the preparation sessions, reproducing actions and recording them for later examination and use in the training of the different sports disciplines.
In the Fencing pavilion of this center, that welcomes Olympic medalists for their training, The most difficult task was to find a camera capable of capturing the entire combat zone, including tracks, of 14 meters long and with little space for placement.
In addition, the device had to offer a Distortion-free image quality and with precision, especially in the sabre, where the fights usually take place at the ends of the track.
E-Novon, French sports video company and Hanwha Vision partner, tested different types of cameras in real situations to respond to the needs of the center in this regard.
"After analyzing all the devices with the trainers, Hanwha Vision's PNM-9022V was the most suitable camera due to its angle, with minimal distortion guaranteed", Explains Romain Briffa, director of E-Novon.
By offering a 180° view reconstructed from Four high-resolution video sensors, the camera PNM-9022V provides a highly detailed image across your entire field of view, without any distortion. In addition, requires very little space behind the filmed scene.
As he points out Cyril Faucher, coordinator of the Performance Support Mission within the high-level department of CREPS, "thanks to the quality and fluidity of the images, the solution provided by E-Novon and Hanwha Vision fully meets our requirements in optimizing training in the fencing room.".
This solution, which is currently being implemented for modern fencing and pentathlon training, "It opens up promising prospects thanks to the information it provides, including the monitoring of these athletes on the track, the provision of statistics and others".
