Puy du Fou installs a unified security solution based on Genetec
This French theme park has a video surveillance solution integrated by 490 cameras and 80 Access Control Readers. With Genetec Omnicast and Security Center have improved image quality and expanded visibility, as well as protecting crowds and coordinating shows.
At the theme park Puy du Fou Les Epesses, The security team needed a solution that would help them centralize video and access control to protect and manage the lively, demanding environment. The park intended to modernize its rigid architecture, Evolve your capabilities and expand security operations. To carry out this task, he relied on the experience of his integrator, i3S, that he proposed as a solution Genetec Security Center.
Puy du Fou is the second largest theme park in France, with more than 2,4 million visitors a year. Its main show features 1.200 Actors, hundreds of horses and 800 Fireworks on the world's largest stage. Backstage, Security operators keep watch 60 Attractions spread across 300 Hectares, 120 of them accessible to the public, to ensure the safety of visitors.
The security infrastructure has 490 Cameras, indoors and outdoors, and these have been connected to the Genetec Security Center, allowing Puy du Fou a detailed overview of the park's events and the optimization of visitor experiences.
"Every new camera we install means we can further improve audience satisfaction, What is our ultimate goal. Over the years, The team has been expanding the number of cameras throughout the park. As a highly scalable platform, Security Center has not only adapted to this growth, but it has also helped them find new ways to improve the visitor experience.", says Mathieu Naulin, security director of Le Puy du Fou.
The park is not open all year round and when it is closed, Security Center is used to filter access to the site and monitor the technical facilities, such as warehouses, including the powder keg, highly critical. All this thanks to the integration of Intercom and intrusion detection. To do this, It is equipped with 12 intrusion detection systems Aritech, distributed by geographical areas.
All shows are supervised by a stage manager with centralized access to a maximum of 20 Cameras. They can watch the performances and make sure everything is okay.
Access management
Genetec Synergis allows Puy du Fou to manage access for individuals or groups, temporarily or permanently. This includes deploying a QR code issuance solution to better manage the access given to suppliers or subcontractors.
"Synergis makes it easy for us to manage access by individual or group of individuals, per door or case by case or more generally”, explains Mathieu Naulin. "It gives us real flexibility in the use of access rights. We are not limited by an overly rigid software and hardware architecture, as we were before".
The Puy du Fou security team also uses the app Genetec Mobile to manage security on the go from mobile phones so they can better respond to incidents.
This option gives access to security features such as opening a door, View or activate a camera or intrusion alarm. All this while on the move from your mobile phone. This allows them greater responsiveness and greater collaboration in the event of a crisis or consultation for better decision-making.
Security Center has provided Puy de Fou with the basic elements to expand its security systems. They have connected 120 cameras at the Omnicast video surveillance system inside Security Center.
With this solution, Operators monitor 490 cameras and 80 Access control readers from the platform. The installation of Genetec Omnicast and Security Center has enabled the Puy du Fou team to improve image quality and expand visibility. They can better protect crowds, coordinate shows and speed up the entry and exit of talent and contractors.
