Snap One Luma Insights Adds AI-Powered Security to Control4 Systems
Luma Insights Snap One, Processor-driven Hailo-8 edge AI, can manage up to four camera streams in real-time on one Luma Bridge device and offer intelligent features beyond native camera designs.
Developed for customers of Control4, Luma Insights It's a new AI-based surveillance solution of Snap One that harnesses the power of artificial intelligence to improve cameras, with a three-year subscription to this service.
As a result,, Snap One partners can Integrate powerful new AI features and learning that far exceed the capabilities of your IP cameras and NVRs alone. The Insights service supports Luma x10 and x20 IP cameras, as well as with the Chime video intercom Control4.
"Artificial intelligence software is creating new opportunities and capabilities across a wide range of devices, including those of security and surveillance," he says Derek Webb, Snap One Surveillance product manager-, to improve event detection and provide greater peace of mind for both users and partners".
The objective of this service, Webb adds, "is to enhance the Control4 experience by delivering long-awaited new features, including surveillance-based reproduction, automatic and dynamic notifications using Luma Insights AI. We want to continue to make it easier for partners to upgrade existing systems without the need for costly revisions.".
Luma Insights provides Seven days of cloud storage of snapshots and video clips of triggered surveillance events, which customers can access locally via their Control4 touchscreens and remotely via their iOS or Android app.
These 'triggered events' automatically generate a link and image of the event, that are added to a notification and sent to the owner's mobile device. By tapping the notification, the customer goes directly to the Control4 app and, If the event is ongoing, Access a live stream or immediate playback; Go to live view or immediately share the event.
Thanks to the artificial intelligence accelerator Hailo-8, Each device Luma Bridge can Process up to four camera streams in real time and deliver intelligent features beyond native device designs using the Luma Insights service.
Snap One chose the Hailo-8 processor for its performance, efficiency and proven track record of integrating with camera systems, which offers up to twenty-six tera-operations per second, with high-accuracy, low-latency data, for real-time alerts and notifications.
"Hailo is pleased to partner with a U.S. company that leverages AI to deliver innovative products and solutions in the commercial and residential spheres," he stresses Anno Domini. Smalley, general director of this company in the United States-. Our advanced AI technology improves end-user experience and security, with more accurate insights and unprecedented speed".
The Luma Insights service is fully configurable three or four steps via OvrC, as it only requires a simple driver installation process and no network configuration on Luma Bridge, which automatically scans the network and Control4 system and displays a list of compatible cameras that are connected to both.
As soon as the Bridge devices are connected, The partner chooses up to four areas of interest within each camera's frame for additional focus, and the solution is immediately functional. The service is smart enough to know if users have already been alerted to an event, so aggregating these suppresses subsequent notifications, but not the recordings.
For Webb, it is "the most powerful and automated surveillance platform that has ever existed for Control4 users, and every Snap One security partner now has an excellent reason to reach out to existing customers and start delivering greater peace of mind to every business.".
