In order to respond to the requirements of the Rize-Artvin Airport, that required a reliable end-to-end video surveillance solution that would also work with access control, Perimeter protection and the announcement system; A Hanwha Techwin.
Rize-Artvin Commercial Airport is located off the coast of Rize Province, northeastern Turkey, and provides service, Mainly, to Turkish Airlines, AnadoluJet and Pegasus Airlines.
Being a completely new airport, the General Directorate of the State Airports Authority (DHMI) He wanted to install a video surveillance system that would ensure his safety, protect staff and passengers, and monitor all assets, Vehicles, Equipment & Aircraft. In addition, It had to be flexible enough to grow as the airport grows.

The security team at Rize-Artvin Airport wanted to install a complete and reliable video surveillance solution that would also work perfectly with access control, perimeter protection and the announcement system", Explains Mubin Cakmak, Managing Director of the System Integrator Company Bes Teknoloji.
The airport building covers an area of 4.460 square meters with a runway 3.000 meters in length. The scale and range of the different areas to be protected increase the complexity of the surveillance required. The security team doesn't just need to monitor for any suspicious behavior or illegal entry, but you should also be aware of unattended or abandoned luggage, vandalism and tampering with equipment, missing children and robberies or other crimes.
The following were chosen: Wisenet cameras for its additional analytical capabilities, including directional sensing, virtual line, Handling Functions, Appearance/Disappearance and Entry/Exit. This gives operators greater contextual awareness of what's happening on the site.

As Cakmak comments, "Advanced analytics is becoming increasingly important for security teams as a way to aggregate contextual information to improve responses, Proactively manage security and respond to events quickly. Alerts are sent to operators based on pre-set rules, so they can be sure that the system is being continuously monitored against any threats, while other tasks continue to be carried out”.
Installed Cameras
In total, 710 Wisenet cameras, including thermals TNO-4050T for perimeter and runway security, minidomes XNV-6080R On and off the airport, bullet XNO-6080R inside airport parking lot and PTZ domes XNP-6321H Inside the terminal building.
The cameras work with the VMS XProtect of Milestone Systems and are integrated with the airport's access control and fire alarm systems.
The main control room receives video streams and other data from the 24 hours of the day, The 7 days of the week, with additional access to the surveillance system by means of monitors installed inside the airport building, allowing the security team to view video footage without having to return to the control room.
A multi-level security system was created to, Starting outside the airport, Requires security verification at each crossing point, track, Elevators & Counters. Along with Line Crossing Analysis (that detects possible intrusions by means of cameras installed around the runway) Improves flight safety by preventing unauthorized access to the runway. This is complemented by thermal cameras that detect people moving along the track in low-light conditions.
