Hikvision turns Vialia-Vigo into a reference shopping center in security
Infrastructure, designed and coordinated by Ingecom, includes more than 500 cameras Hikvision, a new parking guidance system and business intelligence solutions.
Hikvision has brought the devices and technology that have made the Vialia Estación de Vigo shopping center in one of the most advanced in Spain in terms of security and customer experience.
The promoter Nhood has been responsible for the construction of this shopping center, based on a modern and bright architecture. Being built on a transport node (Trains, Bus, Cars) and have become a focus for the leisure of the city, every day thousands of people pass through there. This required a reliable and effective security system., and also perfectly integrated.
The first big challenge was to achieve a complete video surveillance for a large shopping center, no blind spaces left, out of range of cameras. And at the same time, that those cameras were integrated into the environment, that are not invasive.
Video technology was also necessary to turn the parking lot of the shopping center into one of the most comfortable and efficient for users and for the managers themselves.. It was necessary to have equipment to facilitate the guidance of vehicles to free spaces, and also allow users to locate their cars after a day of shopping, since it is not always easy to remember where we have parked.
Another need was to have data, footfall statistics and analytics: most frequented areas, preferred times and days, customer profiles, places of access and routes... The installation of cameras with artificial intelligence gave the possibility of tackling a project of these characteristics.
Comprehensive solution
The solution, designed and coordinated by the integrator Ingecom Systems, includes more than 500 Hikvision cameras, used to offer maximum security, a new parking guidance system and business intelligence solutions.
"The word that defines this project is versatility.. We have developed a solution that has been customized according to the needs of the client and that is a sample of the potential that Hikvision has in the retail sector", Explains Jose Antonio Torralba, Sales Area Manager de Hikvision.
When it comes to security, the shopping center has 200 cámaras de Hikvision(105 DS-2CD2726G2-IZS, 43 DS-2DE5232W-AE, 60 DS-2CD2626G2-IZS and 13 DS-2DE7232IW-AE) who exercise a function of Video surveillance very precise and covering all the spaces of the enclosure.
All images are collected in nine DS-7732NI-I4 recorders, which helps to know at all times what has happened anywhere in the mall. Accuracy and image quality has even helped the police to clarify incidents and criminal acts.
Includes subsystems Cctv, Intercom, facial recognition for access to restricted areas, people count And bodycams.
The infrastructure also has a video intercom solution, that allows any user to contact the security team of the control center. In total, have been installed 16 in tercommunicators DS-KB8113-IME1, that have been located in the emergency shelter areas and in the different premises whose access is controlled from the control center.
Moreover, para acceder a zonas restringidas —centro de control, Offices, changing rooms—where only registered employees can enter, facial recognition devices have been installed (six cameras DS-K1T341AMF), one of the most advanced biometric access control systems on the market.
The second pillar of the installation is the parking guide. The interior of the car park has close to 300 cameras that make up a very efficient guidance system: the user follows the indications to where there are free places without having to make unnecessary turns.
In addition, the license plate recognition system allows vehicle tracking inside the car park, so that when the user picks up the car again after a day of leisure and shopping, It has screens that help you locate it just by typing the license plate.
The mall also features a subsystem that is used for people counting., which allows to know the level of occupation, busiest hours, most used access areas, Et cetera. This information is very important to manage the resources and personnel needed at all times within the enclosure. For this purpose, eight iDS-2CD7126G0-IZS and seven iDS-2CD7186G0-IZS cameras have been installed, plus four iDS-2CD7A86G0-IZHS and two iDS-7716NXI-I4 NVRs.
All this security infrastructure is managed from a control room (where the bdycam DS-MDS003/2T/8 systems are located), equipped with monitors and consoles, that allow you to choose images, move cameras, log and search for events, Et cetera. From that room the control and security of everything that happens in the shopping center is guaranteed.
Business Intelligence
At last, business intelligence is the other great differential for the managers of the shopping center.
The artificial intelligence incorporated by the cameras offers all kinds of analytical information, that helps to make decisions related to the commercial and marketing field, and that allow to improve the value proposition depending on the number of customers, its typology, the hours of the day, Et cetera.
All systems are managed in a unified way from the Hikcentral platform, which is what provides a complete convergence to the solution.
For its part, the director of the Vialia Estación de Vigo shopping center, John Louro, assures that it is "a unique project at national and European level. It improves the customer experience and the business intelligence part helps us improve the profitability of our operations".
