Dahua extends AI applications in its XVR-I3 series of engravers

Two new models of engravers are added to the XVR-I3 series of Dahua Technology with the incorporation of artificial intelligence functions, as full channel SMD Plus, intelligent encryption and perimeter protection.

The models XVR5000-I3 And XVR5000-4KL-I3 with which Dahua Technology expands its series XVR-I3 support a range of AI features to deliver programmed intelligence across a variety of applications and environments.

Both XVR-I3 systems support a number of AI functions, As Smart Motion Detection Plus (SMD Plus), that allows to recognize human and vehicle figures through a deep learning algorithm filtering irrelevant objects to reduce false alarms.

Similarly, perimeter protection function only sends alarms when a human or vehicle intrusion is detected, saving users time in verification. A feature that has now been upgraded from one channel to four (according to the model).

In addition, These new XVR-I3 series recorders also integrate intelligent coding that focuses on human and vehicle targets, saving up to a 50% bandwidth and storage costs compared to H.265.

Programmed AI

Earlier versions of XVR only allow you to enable one AI feature per channel, which means that users must manually switch to another if necessary. With the new XVR5000-4KL-I3 models, AI functions can be preset according to the desired time period, especially advantageous for application in a wide variety of environments.

For example, in retail stores and using the SMD Plus function it is possible to detect customers passing through the entrance during business hours, while at night it can be configured to automatically switch to a perimeter protection use to deter potential intruders.

Linking multiple cameras

Another advantage of the XVR-I3 series is that it can be integrated with the camera Smart Dual Illuminators. According to the status of the target detected by XVR, this device can flexibly switch between IR and white light mode, which significantly helps to reduce light pollution in the area.
