VdS certifies Mobotix's thermographic systems for early fire detection
The fire protection solution approved by the business safety institute VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH opens up a new sales potential for Mobotix and its partners, especially in certified fire alarm systems.
Mobotix M16 VdS Thermal TR, composed of a thermal imaging camera, special firmware and additional components, has recently been approved by VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH, Europe's largest enterprise security institute.
With this approval, Mobotix customers are guaranteed to be notified of fire damage as far in advance and effectively as possible, as well as that any damage that occurs will be resolved quickly and completely by the insurance company, and even have discounts on insurance premiums or their contracting.

While Mobotix thermal technology already provided early fire detection, video systems with their recognition can now also be integrated into VdS certified fire protection systems.
Detecting fires reliably and as soon as possible is the goal of early detection that Mobotix has long pursued with its technology.: intervene quickly, prevent harm and protect people.
The procedure to achieve this is as follows: thermal radiometry cameras (Tr) Mobotix are equipped with a thermal image sensor calibrated to measure thermal radiation throughout the image area, that triggers an alert when limit values are exceeded, either with an alarm, a network message or even the direct activation of a firefighting system.
Quick installation, Mobotix offers a solution with integrated camera less expensive than, For example, linear thermal detectors on the ceiling of a room. In addition, the thermal camera system, which can be installed up to a distance of up to 60 meters from the heat source, can also react more quickly, since it does not depend on the development of smoke.

This VdS-approved solution must be installed together with the M16 Thermal TR camera system architecture and three interface boxes, that is delivered from the factory with special certified software. It is also possible to implement the corresponding software update in an existing model of the level approved by VdS and integrate it with these interface boxes.
