Seville airport returns to bet on LDA to expand its public address and evacuation system

The Seville Airport expands its public address and voice evacuation facility with new public address systems LDA Audio Tech, a project that completes the one already carried out three years ago. These facilities have faced their most important reform of the last 30 years with the expansion of its terminal building to reach a capacity of 10 million passengers per year.

Among the works carried out, a certified public address and voice evacuation system has been installed EN54 and manufactured by LDA Audio Tech, which serves to meet the daily operations of the airport (boarding calls, flight notices, ambient music, Etc.) and also to ensure the safety of all passengers in case of emergency (alarm messages for controlled, phased evacuation).

The project adds teams NEO Extension to the existing installation to meet the needs of new lines, both 500 W as of 250 W, as well as digital audio processors ZES-22 to connect the A-1 microphones of the new boarding gates and the probes that have been extended.

The extension has been designed at both ends of the terminal: the southern part will be used for domestic and international passengers from the Schengen area, while the northern area will remain for the rest of international flights.

The project covers two floors with open spaces and large windows overlooking the airfield. It involves an architectural redesign towards an enclosure with higher ceilings and wide spaces that improve the experience of travelers, with new shopping and dining areas, work and rest areas and passenger lounges.

It also includes a new arrivals hall and baggage claim areas. With these changes, an improvement in the operation of the embarkation and disembarkation processes is sought., which allows passengers in transit to connect to their connecting flight without having to go through security again.

All of these areas are covered by LDA Audio Tech's NEO public address and voice evacuation systems managed by the software. Sime Control to ensure that each message reaches the desired area at the right time, clearly and without interruptions.

In addition to the central units, the installation is equipped with complementary equipment: audio converters, microphones and call stations, line terminators and column speakers, certified roof and surface in 54-24 to ensure maximum intelligibility.

This project addressed by Aena, which is complemented by the regrowth of the flight runways and the reform of the airport's power plant, means increasing the surface area of the installation in a 42 %, add 6 new boarding gates and preparing infrastructure for future expansions.
