Wasabi and Axis bring cloud storage to video surveillance applications
The alliance established between both companies will allow to offer a solution that combines the VMS Axis Camera Station with cloud storage Wasabi.
Access and video management software Axis Camera Station (ACS) incorporate the cloud storage of Wasabi Technologies. This is possible thanks to an agreement established between both companies to offer a solution that combines Axis video technology and the unlimited scalability and low cost of Wasabi. This will help organizations optimize their video surveillance deployments and manage them more effectively..
Smart grid cameras and analytics applications are capturing more and more images so they require an increase in storage capacity. However, many organizations struggle to obtain the resources and bandwidth needed to effectively store their video cost-effectively.
With Wasabi's proposal, ACS users can quickly and easily access their video files for faster recovery times without the fluctuating costs traditionally associated with cloud storage solutions.
Wasabi is a 80% less expensive to store video recordings than traditional cloud storage providers and no outbound charges or API requests, which reduces the total cost of ownership and makes it more predictable.
“The security and safety landscape is undergoing a digital transformation. With this evolution comes more operational and legal requirements that significantly impact costs.”, Explains Heidi Urban, Business Development Manager, Axis Communications Technology Integration Partners. “By partnering with Wasabi, our customers can capitalize on the best technology axis offers with the peace of mind that their video is completely secure and accessible at a predictable price.”
ACS enables users to build a powerful and scalable system that meets security and protection needs, while remaining intuitive to manage, handle incidents, quickly find and export high-definition tests and monitor physical access. With the possibility of moving the video to Wasabi, the amount of material that can be stored is not limited to the size of the local recording database. Users can scale incrementally as required by retention policy.
This architecture is designed to provide flexibility, Keeping, while providing high reliability and availability. Recordings stored on Wasabi are considered 'hot', which means they can be accessed in milliseconds.
Wasabi deployed in secure, redundant data centers that are SOC certified 2 and ISO 27001. The service is designed to protect against ransomware, human errors and other data loss events.
Organizations can configure their video content and related files to be immutable during a user-defined retention period, which means they cannot be disposed of or altered during their storage life.
“Wasabi and Axis are redefining what's possible for the next generation of video surveillance”, Says David Boland, Senior Director of Product Marketing, Wasabi Technologies.
