Tom Jobim International Airport installs Dahua thermal cameras
This initiative joins those already introduced by RIOgalecao in the terminal and which have allowed it to obtain the international seal that accredits actions to combat the spread of coronavirus.
Tom Jobim International Airport has installed two thermal sensing solutions for Dahua Technology to measure the temperature of passengers and employees, as a way to help prevent coronavirus.
"The implementation of thermal cameras at the airport is another health security measure adopted by the concessionaire to prevent the spread of coronavirus. RIOgalecao found a suitable solution to measure passenger temperature, without compromising boarding flow", explains Simone Mendonca, RIOgalecao Terminal Operations Manager.
Dahua Technology's two thermal cameras and black body devices have been installed utanto in the national and international area. Each equipment performs temperature measurement up to 500 people in less than three minutes or 5.000 people in half an hour, simultaneously and contactlessly, allowing continuous passenger flow.
The adoption of the thermal camera solution is part of a series of measures taken by RIOgalecao to contain the spread of coronavirus. In September, RIOgalecao became the first airport in Brazil to obtain the seal of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), attesting to the development of actions to prevent COVID-19. In addition to the global seal, supported by the World Tourism Organization, RIOgalecao also won the Conscious Tourism seal, granted by the Ministry of Tourism of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Setur-RJ).
It is aimed at establishments in the tourism sector, as a way to identify hotels, Restaurants, tourist attractions and terminals that follow the protocols necessary to ensure the safety of their visitors.
