Arkaden Food Hall bets on Dahua's counting and monitoring technology in its reopening
The DSS Pro platform with people counting and flow control cameras, along with monitors from this manufacturer have been installed in this popular Danish food establishment for reopening, capacity now limited to three hundred people.
Referrer in the Danish town of Odense, Arkaden Food Hall has reopened its doors again after the health crisis and, just as it has happened in the rest of the world, complying with government regulations of estating and controlling capacity per square meter, which, where appropriate, has been established in three hundred people.
Due to the dimensions of this space, with two different inputs, fourteen food stalls and two bars, and its popularity among the population, their managers have decided to help the technology of counting people and monitoring capacity for their reopening and safety of customers.
The solution chosen is based on manufacturer safety systems Dahua Technology, which is set up as follows: five bullet-type cameras of the HDW5442E-ZE have been installed in both inputs, of 4 Mp, for people counting.
Added to this are a couple of DPB18-AI encoders from this manufacturer, that allow you to view the captured video stream on the monitor screen.
This system supports up to one video stream in 4K format x 60fps or up to eight 1080p streams x 30fps, and has a Wi-Fi module for reliable operation even in places with limited wiring possibilities.
Two Dahua 32" safety monitors are used for viewing, DHL32-F600, with a resolution of 1,920×1.080Q, brightness of 300 cd/m2 and format 16:9 (Panoramic). The system is managed with DSS Pro software 64 Dahua video channels, which also has a BI module.
Installed people counting cameras allow you to automatically and accurately calculate the number of people entering the restaurant in real time, avoiding congestion and helping to mitigate the spread of the pandemic.
The DSS PRO platform with people count and flow control, together with the monitors installed make it easy to send images, videos and editable content that customers can view on screens, used as a digital signage system at restaurant entrances.
Like this, when the established capacity is exceeded, the message "Limit has been reached" is displayed, so customers can see it and remind them that they have to wait.
Sanne Brigsted, Arkaden Food Hall business development manager, states that "the people counting and capacity solution provides us with statistics and data on the behavior of our customers, which saves us a lot of resources, because we don't have to physically count the number of customers accessing our establishment and, we also offer important information at the entrance using monitors while waiting. We believe this will benefit us to be more efficient and provide a better service".
