The Port of Algeciras controls the spread with thermal cameras in high-traffic areas

This important port facility in southern Andalusia has a device-based security system from Dahua Technology.

Installed in the boarding area to the autonomous city of Ceuta, The Port of Algeciras now has thermal cameras in this space of great passenger traffic; a pilot initiative at the technological and operational level.

The main objective of this collaboration is to implement technologies that help curb the spread of COVID-19, as well as other future pathogens, starting from the body temperature of travelers, the capacity of the areas and the situations of concurrence.

This safety system is designed to locate risks of contagion by monitoring body temperature anomalies over constant human trafficking, detection is done quickly, automatically and without interrupting traffic, with high precision and non-contact, protecting control personnel from potential contagions.

The Algecireño port area has not currently recorded high passenger traffic with Ceuta or Tangier Med, trips have only been made for cases of force majeure authorized by the Government Delegation in the Autonomous City, and now it will start its most controlled and standardized activity.
