These KBC Networks systems, available through ProdexTec in the Spanish and Portuguese markets, have been the solution chosen to protect a logistics centre in the UK.

blankJust a few kilometres from the UK's busiest motorway, located west of London and close to Heathrow Airport, is the warehouse and distribution center of the customer to which the wireless transmission solution of KBC Networks.

For this project, taking into account that this facility remains open twenty-four hours a day, a CCTV system was also required to monitor the movements of entry and exit of the loading docks at all times.

The video surveillance system, that had to be resistant, was required to record video locally and transmit live video to a remote control center. One of the challenges is that there was no fiber installed and, due to the drawbacks of the work, there was no prospect of deploying a new cable.

To meet this requirement, a redundant and wireless video surveillance system was designed with a local DVR and a link to transmit the video to a surveillance center.. To have a complete coverage of the loading docks and doors, cameras were installed on the poles around the place.

KBC WES3HTGAs for the operational resistance that was requested for this project, WES units are used 3 Standard de KBC Networks, brand marketed by ProdexTec in the markets of Spain and Portugal, to create a redundant ring so that, even if a signal path is blocked, a backup connection is activated and the secure video links of each of the cameras are maintained.

Channel selection for each of the units was automatically adjusted, which allowed to use the best frequencies for the wireless environment. With each host pair and clients 'blocked' together, ensuring that the correct transmission and reception units could only communicate with each other, the drives were installed on each node of the camera.

Once assembled, alignment was carried out using the LEDs on the back of the unit and the alignment tool within the graphical user interface to ensure that the signal levels were correct.

Throughout the short installation process, the mapping tool, that comes standard on KBC WES drives 3 Standard and provides a graphical overview of the entire system, was used to display the status of all binding connections, in case there are weak radio frequency links.

The video surveillance system has been successfully installed and is functional, to the extent that other similar security systems have been planned throughout the site.

Wireless units provide the rugged transmission required for area surveillance and now deliveries and pickups are monitored and recorded twenty-four hours a day..
