SightLogix thermal cameras protect Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi
SightSensor thermal cameras provide volumetric coverage over water and do not require fences or defined perimeters. To these, and to achieve a perfect security infrastructure, CNL Software's IPSecurityCenter solution joins.
The Louvre de Abu Dhabi is one of the buildings that are part of the cultural district of Saadiyat Island alongside three other museums and an entertainment center.
Designed by French architect Jean Nouvel, the museum, opened just over two years ago, has an area of about 24.000 m2 and it exhibits the largest collection of works of art in the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
The security demands of abu Dhabi's Louvre Museum go beyond most other cultural sites. This centre exhibits works by France's most famous institutions. Any security breach would create significant damage to the reputation of the United Arab Emirates themselves. For these reasons, deployed systems must operate with extremely high levels of reliability, while minimizing disruptions to visitor experience and museum operations.
To protect this architectural work, where art and light are combined, an intelligent intrusion detection system based on the technology of the SightLogix.
Given its location between the sand and the sea, Abu Dhabi's Louvre presented a security challenge. SightSensor smart thermal cameras provide volumetric coverage over water and do not require defined fences or perimeters. Detect intruders with great precision, even in the presence of reflections and water movements, that usually cause a large number of annoying alerts for smart camera analysis.
SightSensor's precision video processing automatically analyzes the scene to determine security threats and communicates critical size information, speed and location of the intrusion so guards can respond in real time.
At abu Dhabi's Louvre, SightSensor thermal sensing cameras create a wide safety buffer zone over the surrounding water body, detecting the presence of all vessels, including jet skis or rubber boats, approaching the facility or even crossing the bay, at a distance of up to 600 Meters.
When a target violates speed or distance rules, is detected by the camera that sends an alarm, a video of the event and the location of the GPS to show it on the IPSecurityCenter PSIM CNL Software. This early warning detection system provides an instant understanding of approaching intruders, which gives you time to analyze the video, determine the threat and react.
SightLogix and CNL Software have a long history of working together to protect critical assets from security threats. Sight sensors detect intrusions and send video information and alarms over the network for viewing within the IPSecurityCenter PSIM system.
