Bosch detection technology ensures safety at MKM
To protect employees, production and fire machines, Bosch has implemented its Aviotec video-based fire detection solution.
Mansfelder Kupfer und Messing (Mkm) is a German company that manufactures semi-finished copper and alloy products. The company wanted to achieve better protection against fire hazards in two of the corridors of its Hettstedt headquarters in Saxony-Anhalt, a state in the eastern part of Germany.
While searching for the optimal solution, The plant's fire brigade tested several candidates, including several conventional fire alarm systems. The conditions in the aisles are particularly difficult because the pace of production is constantly changing.
“Due to the large size of both aisles, in the end we opted for the Aviotec early fire detection system from Bosch", explains Christ Dammann, Fire & Alarm Systems Administrator at MKM.
Aviotec is a video-based fire detection system that is certified by VdS Schadenverhütung (You). Intelligent algorithms built into the camera ensure early and reliable detection of smoke and flames.
Bosch experts planned and configured the solution for MKM. They were responsible for integrating it into the existing fire detection system and connecting it to the plant's fire brigade monitoring center.
If a possible fire is detected in either room, It sends signals to the central fire detection system and also directly to the fire brigade. Later, Firefighters can check the video monitor and take appropriate and appropriate action to extinguish the fire before it spreads.
