Las Palmas Port Authority protects its enclosures with new IP video surveillance devices
In line with your conversion to Ports 4.0, this institution has installed 82 Axis Communications' new network video surveillance cameras, integrated by the Canarian company Gemed Solutions.
Installed in different enclosures on the island of Gran Canaria, The Port Authority of Las Palmas has 82 video surveillance cameras, with a closed-circuit system with new software that brings greater definition and image control, that add to the network of 144 security devices distributed throughout different port areas of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
This security project has had the local integrator Gemed Solutions, responsible also for training the Port Police, as well as staff from the Department of New Technologies and the Service Coordination Center, for the installation of the security manufacturer's cameras Axis Communications.
Specifically,, the new cameras have been installed in the port enclosures of La Luz (in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria); Salinetas (Telde) and Arinaga; as well as on the island of Lanzarote in the Port of Arrecife, and on the island of Fuerteventura, Puerto del Rosario, according to the data provided by the Port Authority of Las Palmas.
Integrated into the control and tracking network, all of these security devices allow the Service Coordinating Center to "adequately fulfill" its functions, such as maritime traffic control by the relevant unit; the management of nautical technical port services for practice, towing and mooring, as well as coordination tasks in the event of maritime or land emergencies, among others.
