Axis IP radar integrates with Milestone VMS

The set of new Axis Optimizer for Milestone XProtect resources facilitates the identification process, installation and configuration of various plugins, what was traditionally done manually and slower.

The IP radar, launched by Axis Communications to detect and accompany intrusions in any weather condition, integrates directly into the video management platform Milestone. From the installation of a set of free plugins, radar-generated graphics can be viewed directly on the XProtect Smart Client interface.

The novelty, which also facilitates the management and configuration of radar detection rules and zones, follows the trend of using video software to manage other devices in addition to security cameras.

“Typically, when there's an intrusion, the operator in front of the VMS screen doesn't know how many people invaded or what their journey is, especially if it's raining, fog or in an area covered by vegetation. IP radar shows the path and speed of invaders and reduces false alarms, becoming a useful tool in control centers”, says Paulo Santos, Axis Communications Solutions Manager.

In addition, new features include fixing distortions of panoramic cameras, controls of PTZ camera functions and focus recovery even in difficult lighting conditions.
