Indra's InNova surface movement guidance and control system will be expanded with cameras that will be installed at the top of the tower to monitor the runway and operating areas. In addition, a PTZ will be used to track, extend and follow specific objectives.

Riga International Airport

Latvijas Gaisa Satiksme (LGS) has awarded a contract to the subsidiary of Indra in Norway, Indra Navia, to improve surveillance with video cameras in the Riga International Airport. LGS forecasts a large increase in traffic volume in the coming years.

With the expansion and construction work that is planned, the videvigilance solution will provide air traffic controllers with greater control over ground operations.

“Safety always comes first and we need to ensure that our air traffic controllers have excellent visual control. Indra's solution is easy to use and will help us improve operational safety”, comment roberts sviklo, head of air control towers at Riga International Airport.

Indra will install cameras at the top of the tower to monitor the airport runway and operating areas. An additional PTZ camera will be used to track, extend and follow specific objectives.

Air traffic controllers will be able to control the cameras thanks to the integration with the advanced system of guidance and control of movement on the surface (Asmgcs) Indra's InNova that LGS uses from 2006. This integration will solve challenges related to limited visual control with adverse weather conditions, at night and at certain blind spots arising from the construction of new buildings and hangars.
