Bosch equips the Adana Integrated Health Campus with a comprehensive security system
An end-to-end security infrastructure has been implemented in this Turkish hospital centre, that integrates 2.000 video surveillance cameras, as well as access control systems, fire detection, public address system and voice evacuation.
Finished in 2017, Adana Integrated Health Campus is a hospital complex in Turkey encompassing three specialist clinics with a total capacity of 1.550 Beds. With more than 318.000 square meters, is a public-private collaboration project carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Health to serve the patient population around the provinces of Adana, Hatay and Osmaniye.
The Central Hospital offers an Oncology Center, as well as one of Cardiology and Cardiovascular with a capacity of 367 Beds. The Maternity and Pediatrics has 349 beds and the general hospital has 584 Beds.
When choosing a safety and security solution for your health center, Adana officials wanted to integrate the most advanced hardware into a single platform covering four areas: Video surveillance, access control, fire detection in addition to public address and voice evacuation. Bosch has been the company supplying the technology that was needed for the project and the installation has been commissioned by the company Ateksis.
Due to the size and complexity of the campus, this level of integration proved to be a real test for the Building Integration System platform (Bis) by Bosch. The IP video surveillance system consists of 2.000 cameras for the security of critical indoor and outdoor areas, such as entrances and corridors.
Managed via Bosch Video Management System (BVMS), live data from Flexidome high-definition cameras, Dinion IP Starlight and Autodome IP Starlight are monitored on-site through a single control room.
To provide fire safety, the BIS platform controls approximately 45.000 detection points, Including 30.000 fire detectors, plus fire alarm pushbuttons and interface modules throughout the campus.
For an extra level of integration, the hospital's telephone exchange is integrated with the public address and voice evacuation systems thanks to BIS, that allows the enabling of public announcements and / or fire alarms from the nurses' tables for an immediate evacuation of patients and their relatives.
To safeguard the maternity clinic against 'pink code' cases (baby abduction), Bosch access control integrates RFID tags on newborn babies to trigger alarms.
With the implementation of a complete solution on a single platform from the beginning, Adana Integrated Health Campus sets the standard for patient safety in a system marked by a low cost of ownership, maintenance cost and failure rates.
