Minsait's technology will integrate all the security systems of Vatican Museums into a single platform
A fiber optic network, which already extends by some 20 Kilometers, will connect the complex system of flow control and environmental sensors, video surveillance and security systems, fire and evacuation.
The company of Indra, Minsait, is implementing a system to integrate the services of the Vatican Museums, improving the protection of the works and the safety of its visitors.
Minsait's technology, together with the work carried out by Indra's Infrastructure Security Systems Unit, will allow integration, on a single platform, all security systems in the Vatican Museums. With this project you will have a more precise and complete vision of everything that happens inside, enabling an intelligent and optimized management of visitor flows and spaces and a further improvement of security.
The project is part of a five-year digitalization plan, aimed at improving the services offered to the public and in which they participate, in addition to Vatican Museums, the Directorate of Security services and Civil Protection, the Directorate of Technical Services and the Directorate of Telecommunications. All of them within the 'Governatorato’ of Vatican City State.
The complex sensor system already active in the Museums will increase and develop technologically, being integrated into the platform and providing useful data to security and management systems.
A team of Minsait experts in Smart Security and Smart Tourism have already completed a first study defining the security plan that will be implemented in the coming years. In addition, the construction of a Datacenter has begun that will receive and integrate the information from the different systems, centralizing the management of security processes.
A fiber optic network, which already extends by some 20 Kilometers, will connect the complex system of flow control and environmental sensors, video surveillance and security systems, fire and evacuation. In addition, the wireless connection will be available to the thousands of visitors who every day enjoy the works of Museums, offering new visit experiences through dedicated applications and a 'safety place'.
In its initial phase, the project will address the digitalization of all security systems and management of visitor flows, positioning the Vatican Museums as a global reference in Safety & Security thanks to Minsait technology.
The integration of the various sources and systems will allow centralizing the surveillance and control of all the spaces of the institution, ensuring an immediate diagnosis of each incident based on the situation detected, the place and context in which it occurred and the number of visitors affected.
In addition, the public will have the best guarantees in emergency situations thanks to a digital and multimedia system of warnings, able to channel visitors intelligently based on the concentration levels of people in the rooms, accelerating and automating evacuation procedures and protocols.
Integra Museum
The agreement reached between Minsait and the Vatican Museums also provides for the joint development of Integra Museum., an innovative digitization and security platform that will be available to museums and centers around the world.
The platform adds the knowledge and experience of the Vatican Museums to Minsait's technology, based on the Integra platform, that incorporates the most innovative technology of the Internet of Things, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence for digitalization, security and management of visitor flows.
It is a Physical Security Information Management platform (PSIM) that integrates sensors and systems in a single graphical interface, thus allowing a unified and coordinated management of the security and services offered by museums.
