Canon expands its video analytics solutions offering with BriefCam technology
With the purchase of the company BriefCam, Canon Expands Offering of Video Content Analytics Solutions (Vac) with Video Synopsis technology. This operation is part of the Japanese company's strategic plan to continue growing and strengthening its businesses.
Canon has concluded the agreement to purchase shares of the Israel-based firm, BriefCam. The latter focuses its activity on the development and marketing of video content analysis software (Vac) which uses video Synopsis technology itself.
In the fifth phase of its global corporate excellence plan, five-year initiative launched in 2016, Canon aims to meet the challenge of continuing to grow through a broad strategic transformation to strengthen existing businesses, as well as the expansion and strengthening of new businesses.

Incorporating this company specialized in VCA software to the group, Canon will expand its capacity to offer an even wider range of state-of-the-art technology and solutions in the fields of network cameras, video management software and video content analysis software. BriefCam was founded in 2007 based on Video Synopsis technology, developed at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, that allows you to review hours of video in minutes and quickly identify people and objects of interest.
BriefCam technology is used in more than 40 countries and regions in public security agencies and security forces, public administrations and transport, large companies, health and educational institutions and local communities.
