El Altet Airport expands its security and control systems with Vitelsa
The project includes the design and installation of several passenger traffic controls, that integrate with emergency and evacuation solutions. In addition, alarm systems have been implemented to warn security teams in the event of unauthorized steps.
Alicante-Elche Airport, also known as airport of The Altet, supports a high national and international tourist traffic and occupies, Currently, fifth place by passenger traffic in the Spanish airport network. It is among the 50 of greater transit in Europe. It is operational 24 hours a day and has 53 check-in desks and 18 gates.
For the execution of the contract for the extension and improvement of the airport's security and access control systems, Aena you have selected Vitelsa Security and Control, one of the four selected companies present in the SICA framework agreement for the supply and installation of safety equipment 2015-2018.
The technological proposal includes the design and installation of several passenger traffic controls within the airport. These controls have been built with high-strength glass walls and are equipped with new access control systems, integrated with emergency and evacuation systems. In addition, alarm systems have been installed to alert security teams in the event of unauthorized steps.
For the management of passenger departures/entries in the arrival and exit areas of the airport, state-of-the-art anti-return corridors have been installed. These have been designed to withstand the traffic of high passenger traffic and are monitored by high-definition cameras for automatic control by intelligent image analysis.
Additionally, corridors have intercom systems to facilitate, if necessary, communication between passengers and security personnel.
To complete the implementation of these new security and control systems, the specialized personnel of Vitelsa Security and Control has carried out its parameterization and integration into the GSA system of global security management, developed by AENA, for monitoring 24×7 and global control of all security and control devices installed in the airport area.
In a complementary way, preventive and corrective maintenance services will be provided for the new systems installed over the next few years., ensuring maximum operability of the same in an environment of high criticality.
