Drones monitor real-time and 4K Rock in Rio festival 2017

In this huge enclosure, with more than 150 attractions and attended by more than 700.000 people to see the performances of international artists such as Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, Justin Timberlake, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Guns N’ Roses, The Who and Red Hot Chili Peppers, among others, on the six stages of the festival of the new City of Rock, which has doubled its space compared to the edition of two years ago.
In this edition, Drones have a very special role, not only for the celebration of a light show in which they will form figures in the sky, such as the iconic Rock in Rio logo guitar, but will be used to fly over and monitor the venue in real time as a means of security for the event.
To do this, two pieces of equipment will be used to record images with 4K resolution, that fly up to 500 meters high the surroundings of the festival in 7 Km. away, especially the area closest to the lagoon to prevent the entry of people without a ticket, at a maximum speed of 100 Km/h.
As in the last editions of this biennial festival (more details on this Daily), the organization has counted for the safety and protection of visitors, artists and facilities with the technology and resources provided by the alliance between Prosegur And Bosch Security to monitor the venue, where the more than one hundred surveillance cameras are connected to the Integrated Command and Control Center (CICC).
In turn, these devices are also connected to the Prosegur company's network, and that, as its director in Brazil points out,, "This year is completed with the integration of drone technology into the security system, which allows aerial visualization of the entire Rock in Rio and is excellent for monitoring and controlling the perimeter of the festival and allows us to react to any incident".
For security measures and according to the country's regulations, drones cannot fly over the stages or the center of the City of Rock, Where the audience is, but are restricted to the environment and perimeter.
