Honeywell brings comprehensive security solution to Nantes University Hospital

The center has this manufacturer's built-in Pro-Watch security management system to protect its staff, patients and visitors, encompassing video surveillance, access control and anti-intrusion systems.

Nantes University Hospital is one of the most important in France, with an approximate area of 440.000 m2 to offer specialized medical and surgical services on an uninterrupted basis. The center has recently installed a new security system in order to better protect its staff, visitors and patients.

Specifically,, the center has relied on the manufacturer's Pro-Watch system Honeywell Security, an integrated solution that encompasses video surveillance systems, access control and anti-intrusion in a simple interface with the aim of improving the safety and protection of the hospital.

The requirements of the new system were to monitor and control all video surveillance cameras from a central location; that was compatible and offered the option to integrate older security systems cost-effectively, as well as customizing access cards and analyzing different profiles based on information from individual users and specific user groups.

That's why, Honeywell proposed to center leaders the installation of Pro-Watch, that thanks to a single monitoring center allows hospital security personnel to monitor alarms and video recording at the same time (with storage for a fortnight).

Thanks to this flexible security solution, professionals can access buildings, hospital car parks and restaurants with a single access card, that also activates IT permissions. In addition, other 5.000 additional cards for trainees, students and third-party construction and service providers.

Among other advantages of installing this comprehensive security solution is that the surveillance cameras distributed throughout the center are controlled from a central location, saving maintenance and safety workers time; the number of access card malfunctions has been significantly reduced and has also been integrated with other older security systems.
