Magal S3 Spain, award of the perimeter security project of the Port of Huelva
The multinational of security solutions for complex environments and critical infrastructures has been awarded the project of supply and deployment of the new perimeter security device of this Andalusian installation, in addition to completing the acquisition of video management and analysis specialist Aimetis.
Located in an area of great geostrategic value in the navigation routes, The Port of Huelva is the largest in Spain in extension (with a surface area of 1.700 hectares and 8,5 Km. of public and private docks) and is specialized in liquid and solid bulk, in addition to being an industrial and energy port that generates the 1,4% of Gross Value Added (1.718 millions of euros) and the 0,7% of employment (17.861 jobs) of Andalusia.
To improve the external security of the port, the Port Authority of Huelva called a public tender for which the multinational has been awarded Magal S3 Spain, which will be responsible for the supply and installation of the new perimeter security device for the value of 1.365.000 Euros, including the 10 kilometers of intelligent perimeter protection and network video surveillance cameras.
The external security of the port has been divided into four different zones to define vulnerabilities and locate the necessary systems, such as fences with sensors, Shielded, associated electronic elements and CCTV surveillance of the port perimeter.
Specifically,, and according to the terms of the tender, vandal-free IP surveillance cameras and IP66 protection will be installed, with day and night models, infrared-thermal, as well as motorized devices with both technologies for remote surveillance of the defined perimeter, real-time monitoring and continuous video recordings.
Acquisition of Aimetis
Moreover, Magal S3 has completed the acquisition of the Canadian multinational Aimetis, specialized management, Detection, video recognition and analysis, which will expand by a 20% the Israeli group's global offering and will triple the intelligence of its advanced Command and Control Platform Fortis 4G, as its top officials have pointed out.
For the company's global president, ASaar Koursh, "Magal and Aimetis are clearly complementary., and its offer will allow us to have a wide catalog of video surveillance for advanced applications".
In this line, Michael A. Lopez Romero, CEO of Magal S3 points out that "the synergy generated by this operation will also boost our plan for Spain. Also, Fortis 4G command and control platform to achieve unprecedented capabilities with Aimetis integration, planned for this summer".
