Sony, Bosch Security sign strategic and commercial agreement on network security video developments
Cash from the beginning of 2017 pending approval by antitrust authorities, both multinationals will undertake a strategic collaboration with the aim of establishing new standards in the processing of high-resolution video images and in low light conditions.
The Japanese Sony and the German Bosch Security will unite technological expertise, commercial and sales to develop new standards in video surveillance and security applications, fruit of the agreement, still to be approved, that both companies have just signed and announced to the market.
Under this strategic partnership, Sony customers of the security environment in all markets, except in Japan, will be taken care of and will have a dedicated technical support team, sales and marketing within the Bosch Security Systems organization, that will offer support, after-sales service and training in different languages in more than fifty countries around the world.
Sony, that will continue to develop and manufacture its video surveillance security products under its brand, brings expertise in video image quality and performance, with special focus in low light conditions, while Bosch adds video analytics tools to this partnership to interpret data, as well as innovative technology to achieve bit rates and minimal storage.
For Toru Katsumoto, Vice President of Imaging Products and Solutions at Sony, "This partnership will revolutionize the video security industry, as it combines technological expertise and the strengths of two leading companies in the field of video security applications. Customers will benefit from Sony's superior image quality, just like their 4K solutions, combined with Bosch bit management and video analytics".
In the same vein, the President of Bosch Security Systems, Gert van Iperen, "This unique partnership also supports the company's vision in IoT. (Internet of Things). Network video surveillance cameras, and more specifically the data that is collected plays a very important role in the development of IoT, and the cameras could be referred to as 'the eyes of the Internet of Things'.
