Flir increases its machine vision solutions with Point Grey technology
With this acquisition, expands its catalog of solutions for machine vision and intelligent imaging in retail analytics. Flir Systems has completed the acquisition of the company Point Grey Research By 259 millions of dollars.
Founded in 1997 based in Richmond (British Columbia), Point Grey focuses its activity on the development of cameras and solutions for industrial automation systems, medical diagnostic equipment, traffic control and counting applications in the military and defense environment. Designs and manufactures cameras and software to improve efficiency, quality, analysis and security of a wide range of processes and products.

With this acquisition, Flir will boost its OEM business with a wide portfolio of cameras and machine vision systems, while Point Grey's solutions will benefit from the former's thermal sensor technology to increase their reach to new markets. The business will be incorporated into Flir's Integrated Imaging Solutions line that focuses its activity on the oem and emerging market of the company.
