Siemens securizes the first building built by a 3D printer
The 'Office of the Future' will house the headquarters of the Dubai Future Foundation in a building in 250 square meters that has been equipped with Siemens access control and video surveillance systems.
The first building produced by a 3D printer has just been inaugurated in Dubai, near the Emirates Towers. These are the offices that will house the headquarters of the Dubai Future Foundation and that have 250 square meters of 'Office of the Future'. For its realization is used a equipment that measures approximately 6 meters high, 36 long and 12 wide.
Siemens it has also participated in this project providing access control and video surveillance systems, that are integrated into a centralized management platform.
"We are proud to participate in this pioneering project and support Dubai's smart city strategy., providing the latest technology in automation and digital and intelligent control of buildings", declares Matthias Rebellius, CEO of Siemens' Building Technologies division.
The key components of the "Office of the Future" operate together thanks to the Desigo CC integrated building management platform. The platform allows the control and optimization of the building infrastructure, integrated by video surveillance systems, air conditioning and access control from a single central position. Desigo cc shows the status of the different systems in real time, enabling operators to accurately monitor and control building performance.
The "Office of the Future" concept employs a Siemens video surveillance system with high-definition cameras, which can be accessed through apps and web, and an access control system based on biometrics and smart cards.
Siemens has also supplied the fire protection systems, the scope of which covers detention, alarms and control, including multi-sensor detectors that can adapt to changing environments, in addition to determining false alarm signals and protecting against the presence of carbon monoxide. The system can be operated remotely for more efficient maintenance.
"Desigo CC offers building operators accurate monitoring of their facilities, a more effective and transparent management of them, as well as greater flexibility and energy optimization", says Rebellius.
