The concept of separating the lens from the IP camera body, created by Axis on 2013, allows discreet monitoring in small shops and ATMs, which has now been improved in versatility, brightness and cost with this new generation of modular cameras.

Axis P1244

The first model of this new range of modular cameras Axis, named P1244, slope 40% less than the first three models of the series presented in 2013, and offers greater versatility in its installation in small shops and ATMs, with sharp images in varied lighting conditions.

P1244 modular camera incorporates new Zipstream image compression technology, that reduces the need for bandwidth and storage in, at least, A 50%, based on manufacturer's data.

The modular concept divides the camera into two parts: at one end are the lens and the image sensor, while the main unit is located on the other, that houses the processor and network and power connections. Both parts are connected with a cable of 8 Meters, allowing sensors to be installed discreetly, while the main unit can be located elsewhere.

Axis P1244The sensor of the P1244 camera has a horizontal field of view of 102° and can be installed in places with very little space, on the walls or ceiling. In the new generation of the P12 series, the main unit is three times smaller than the previous model.

This device equips the new generation of Axis processors, that allows the simultaneous execution of up to twenty applications, occupying a maximum space of 8 Mb, making it easier for the same camera to process multiple video analyses, such as motion detection.

The camera plays videos with an HDTV resolution, features PoE power for easy installation, micro SD card slot for local storage and is compatible with most VMS on the market (Onvif), as well as axis camera station and camera companion.
