Tyco Retail Solutions develops a solution to prevent loss and theft of merchandise in stores that combines Sensormatic hardware with the TrueVUE retail software platform.
Storefront Visibility app leverages radio frequency identification technologies (Rfid) and electronic protection of articles with acoustomagnetic systems (EAS AM), in order to provide data that helps reduce the unknown loss of merchandise. EAS AM protection provides anti-theft protection; while the RFID component offers detailed information.
New store application can be layered into item-level RFID-based inventory intelligence solutions to identify causes of inventory distortion at the store perimeter, allowing for additional benefits.
By connecting Sensormatic Synergy sensing hardware with the TrueVUE software platform, Retailers get item-level visibility information in a situation of merchandise theft. Retailers, with this analytical information, They can know which items leave without a proper transaction, Restocking stolen goods, Respond to changes in trends in store theft and define differentiated alarms based on the value of the merchandise.
This in-store visibility solution integrates with compatible protection cameras for video verification of in-store alarm events. These images can be used for police analysis and can be shared with other stores., retail chains and law enforcement agencies to offer new information on OCR.
“By leveraging this app for greater visibility in the store, retailers can expand the benefits of existing RFID deployments. It is also an ideal access point for retailers looking to start experiencing the benefits of this technology with loss prevention in their stores.”, comments Nancy Chisholm, President of Tyco Retail Solutions.
