The University of Cyprus chooses Risco Group's integrated security solutions
As the winner of the tender, Cypriot company Wave Electronics has selected management solutions, access control, CCTV and intrusion of the specialist Risco Group for the integrated security system of the campus.
Located in Nicosia, the University of Cyprus (UCY) it consists of numerous buildings connected by paths or trails, that until now did not meet international standards for their safety and security for students, personnel and property.
Those responsible for UCY put out to tender the installation of a security system that integrated management, access control, Cctv, Intrusion, and that it would adapt without problems to the environment of a university campus. The company Wave Electronics, based in the Cypriot capital, won the tender and hired Risco Group to deploy your integrated security solutions that met all requirements.
As explained by the commercial director of Wave Electronics, "We visit a number of safety exhibitions and regularly receive communications from various manufacturers of the products relevant to the project.. When the opportunity presented itself to participate in the tender for the UCY contract, we decided that Risco Group's solution was the right one".
Risco Group's axesplus access control system was installed in the four hundred doors of the campus buildings, along with one hundred controllers and four hundred smart readers. This same system is also used for printing ID cards and time of arrival/departure and attendance reports for students and university staff..
As an intrusion system, the option has been Risco ProSYS Plus with the installation of eleven control panels of this model and more than two hundred iWise detectors in Bus. To this is added the deployment of 112 CBS cameras for CCTV system, with nine digital video recorders, also supplied by Risco Group.
All systems are integrated within the SynopSYS Integrated Security and Management platform of this provider, enabling centralized control and surveillance across the entire campus through an interface with intuitive real-time synoptic maps.
UCY is in the process of expanding its campus and as the construction is completed all security systems will also be installed in the new buildings, with a total of two hundred additional doors.
