Brazil's international airports implement NEC facial recognition technology
NEC's NeoFace Watch solution has been chosen for implementation in fourteen international airports in Brazil as an identification system, both for security purposes and for customer relationship management.
Fourteen Brazilian international airports, which includes the largest in the country: Governor André Franco Montoro (of Guarulhos, in Sao Paulo) and Antônio Carlos Jobim (of Galeão, in Rio de Janeiro), are implementing NeoFace Watch facial recognition software from NEC Corp. with the aim of improving safety and effectiveness in the identification of people, as well as in the efficiency of the customs process and in the management of relations with users.
NeoFace Watch is a flexible platform that accurately facilitates automatic face recognition through photos, CCTV images, Video recordings and webcams for application in security and management environments.
The implementation of this software will be carried out gradually in fourteen international airports in Brazil. For this project, NEC will supply the NeoFace Watch facial recognition system, CCTV cameras, servers and network infrastructure, as well as integration services of existing systems and maintenance for the specific body Receita Federal (Secretariat of the Internal Revenue Service of Brazil under the Ministry of Finance of Brazil)
As Daniel Mirabile explained, president of NEC Brazil, "Our facial recognition technology was evaluated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. (Nist) and ranked number one in the world in accuracy and speed of analysis. After integration with the Receita Federal system, facilitate the identification of passengers who have been registered by the agency with suspicious activity, contributing to the improvement of controls at the country's borders, and, consequently, to the betterment of society at large".
Specifically,, The NeoFace Rights Watch solution was selected by Brazil's National Tax Agency to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of customs and border control processes with facial recognition technology at fourteen international airports in the country, and this is the first project carried out by the Government of Brazil that uses this system.
