Italian city of San Antonio Abate strengthens its security with Axis cameras

This Italian town, in the province of Naples, has deployed a comprehensive and unified urban security system, combining Axis network and license plate reading systems with Integra Solutions' video signal management systems, according to the project designed and executed by the specialist Selcom.

An advanced video surveillance system, with the aim of having greater control over crime and prevention in its fight, especially in areas with high commercial density, has been the project carried out in the Italian city of San Antonio Abate and the region of Campania, in the province of Naples.

Another requirement of the implementation of this system was that it had an integrated tool for security management, in order to monitor the territory in advance and govern emergency situations and support activities.

The design, integration and deployment of this project has been the responsibility of the specialist Selcom, that took advantage of the synergies between the network video surveillance technologies of Axis Communications and those of the video signal management system of the Italian specialist Integrate Solutions.

In this sense, a control and management system has been installed for all the city's security devices and applications, centralized on Integra Solutions' iDefender software platform, as well as the two video surveillance that existed at the territorial level, to which new cameras have been added, to ensure a unified management of public safety and the protection of investments already made and new.

The new system is based on the deployment of different IP cameras and license plate reading and management that is located in a control center with seventeen monitoring posts.

Specifically,, have been deployed 37 Axis P1357-E fixed cameras, with sensor 5 Megapixels and P-Iris system, allowing automatic and precise control of diaphragm position and depth of field optimization: two PTZ speed dome systems of the Q6032-E model, as well as four systems for the recognition of license plates of the Q1604-E model of this supplier, located on the access roads to the city.

Axis' new network cameras combine with the twenty-two networked devices that already existed in the area to form a single, advanced territorial surveillance system., able to respond fully to the demands of city administration.

To do this, a specific control and management room has been created, located in the Police Operations Center, where the entire video surveillance system is centralized through iDefender Guardian Server, as well as network devices (Antennas, Switches, router, Etc), to perform tele-surveillance and to manage intelligent alarm routing and notification.
