Tyco IF&S shows its vision of the present and future of the security market
In his speech, at the 14th European ASIS Conference and Exhibition held in Frankfurt, Roland Y. Billeter, president of Tyco IF&S Continental Europe, highlighted the knock-on effect that integrated security, the Internet of Things (We) and biometrics will have in the security sector.
Companies dedicated to security must offer more than just products to continue the growth that this market is having and that is positioned in an annual increase of a 20%, especially in the area of integrated technologies and physical security information management (PSIM). Customers and security vendors must work together to develop simple, flexible solutions that respond to real-world problems in any environment.
These are some of the conclusions of the presentation made by Roland Y. Billeter, president of Tyco IF&S Continental Europe, at the 14th European Conference and Exhibition of Asis on security held in Frankfurt (Germany) last March.
In his speech, Roland presented his point of view on the knock-on effect that integrated security, the Internet of Things (We) and biometrics will have in the security sector.
When it comes to IoT, its total value added in all sectors is expected to increase in 1,9 billions of US dollars to 7,1 trillions of dollars worldwide for the year 2020, according to international data corporation forecasts (Idc). To this day, according to Wallet, "we are laying the foundation for the future of connectivity across all devices, technologies and processes".
As IoT evolves and technology applications advance, there may be additional challenges in terms of data protection and vulnerability. "As security vendors, it is our responsibility to protect the integrity of data and security systems". At the conference, it was concluded that the industry must continue to work to find new methods to protect this information.
Speakers also shared their analysis of the biometrics market, which is not yet widely accepted by customers. Billeter predicted that the use of discrete and easy-to-use technologies will continue to expand, However, will be used, especially, in critical infrastructure environments and buildings.
