HID Access Control System Secures CAS Institute of Dynamic Physics Laboratories
The access control system, RFID-based, hid protects entry into the laboratories of the Institute of Dynamic Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences , while ProxPro cards respond to the environmental challenges posed by.
The Institute of Dynamic Physics (Institute of High Energy Physic -IHEP), integrated into the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Chinese Academy of Sciences -CAS), is a center that focuses its research on advanced accelerator technologies, Nuclear medical instruments, Industrial Automation, precision machinery...
Their research and development led them to look for an advanced access control system that would provide them with greater security., as entry to restricted areas of the laboratory was being managed manually. To enter, a key stored in a central control unit had to be used and then returned to its location..
The lack of a sophisticated security procedure created a great risk, because of potential radiation exposure and the possibility that someone would stay inside the lab.
This concern for safety is what made IHEP look for an automated system that would provide them with greater protection.. Beijing Access Control Technology was commissioned to develop an advanced security system that includes RFID access control technology from HID, Integrated with a networked solution, Custom software, closed-loop surveillance and a fire detection/prevention system.
"Comfort, safety and process automation were critical considerations for us when selecting HID products as we knew their solutions met IHEP's needs.", Li Tie Hui of the Acceleration Control Center comments (The Accelerating Control Center) from China.
Manual access to each lab door is now accompanied by a HID reader that includes sound and a separate LCD display. This reader displays an identification number that provides the system with a high level of security and indicates the identity of the person who wants to access the facility, the time of day and the number of people staying in and/or leaving the restricted area of the laboratory, displaying their names on the LCD screen.
Once the departure confirmation has been completed, which is reflected in the reader with a 'confirmation of output' flicker, The person's name disappears from the screen.
HID's access control technology manages entry to the laboratory by prohibiting passage while the laboratory is operational. In addition, HID ProxPro cards have been modified to solve possible alterations of radioactive energy that are generated around the laboratory, offering a reliable solution to the environmental challenges posed by the Institute of Dynamic Physics.
