Thomas Jefferson University Hospital has strengthened security with the installation of access control systems Smarter Security. The project has begun at the reception of the Gibbon building and, Later, will continue in four other campus buildings.

Fastlane Plus AS and Fastlane Intelligate optical lathes and other 9 Fastlane Plus systems will be installed, in groups of three, to protect all three entries. An implementation that is being carried out by Siemens Building Technologies.

Doctors and staff enter through the lathes or through private door-controlled access, while visitors have to pass through these 'doors' and, using the FastScan solution, integrated into the lathes, are read the barcodes of your cards.

Smarter Security Fastlane IntelligateIntelligate systems are installed alongside Fastlane Plus systems and their wider access door with rear sensing gate, allows stretchers and wheelchairs to pass through. In total, eighteen Fastlane Plus lathes to protect Thomas Jefferson University Hospital buildings.

"Hospitals in big cities face major security challenges. With Fastlane entry control solutions it is possible to reduce many risks from day to day, as well as deterring more extreme threats. Fastlane optical lathes are characterized because they are very reliable", comments Brian Drea, Siemens Building Technologies Account Executive.

Fastlane Plus AS combines the safety of Fastlane optical technology with the deterrence of a barrier-operated arm and enables open-mode operation.
