Robust design, axis F series features a high-performance unit - called F44- which can simultaneously be connected to four miniature sensor units for discreet and cost-effective video surveillance in the same number of areas.

The F44 main unit developed by Axis Communications is specially designed for application in retail and banking or in transportation facilities such as emergency vehicles, buses and trucks. With a robust and compact design, this system was launched last fall into the stratosphere, offering videos of his own ascent and return to the ground.

The company has added the F44 main unit to its modular and flexible F series, which is based on a network camera concept divided into a sensor unit (lenses and image with a cable pre-assembled up to 12 meters in length) and a main unit that constitutes the body of the camera.

Since the main unit and sensor unit with different types of lenses are sold separately, customers choose the components they need and easily change them to adapt them to the video surveillance they need. These products allow for discreet installation, because small sensor units can be installed virtually out of sight in tight places, and the main unit located at a distance of up to twelve meters.

Roberto de los Santos, sales engineer from Axis Communications, "F44 is a simple and cost-effective solution that allows you to monitor up to four different areas using a single main unit. Small sensor units can be easily relocated after initial installation, offering users additional flexibility, so it's great for small areas, like shops, buses or even the inside or around ATMs".

Stratospheric balloon tour

Last fall and as part of a game called Stratocaching (combining high-rise balloons with object location via GPS or geocaching) held in the Czech Republic, an Axis F44 was launched with two F1005 sensor units from this company in one of the stratospheric balloons.

"This project has demonstrated the robustness and video quality of Axis F series products," says De los Santos.. The F44 and F1005-E sensor unit operated in difficult conditions and at extremely low temperatures, reflecting the high quality of our products".
