Madrid Municipal Police equips their patrol cars with network video surveillance cameras
More than 126 cámaras de videovigilancia en red componen el equipamiento de seguridad de los coches patrulla de la Policía Municipal de Madrid, as part of the project convened by the General Directorate of Security of the Madrid Council through its technical services.
The network security devices selected are the Taiwanese manufacturer's IP8332 and PZ8121W Vivotek to equip the nearly two hundred patrol cars of the Madrid Municipal Police, that have been supplied by the local distributor Lsb and integrated by Plettac Electronics.
The PZ8121W has been installed on the dashboard of patrol cars to monitor the interior of the vehicle and the surrounding area. This motorized camera for horizontal and vertical movement and zoom incorporates 10X zoom, incorporates 3GPP mobile connectivity and WiFi capability.
HD images captured by the camera are transmitted over the Internet to a police headquarters control center for monitoring, recording and managing them.
Each patrol car equips, in addition to the PZ8121W indoor camera, two more of this supplier's IP8332 model located on the outer roof to perform video surveillance of vehicles circulating in your environment, in addition to integrating the automated license plate or plate recognition system (Lpr) Plettac to identify those considered suspected or stolen, Etc.
Vivotek IP8332 is a one-megapixel bullet-type network camera, especially suitable for application in transport systems, that captures images in HD and in different lighting conditions day/night thanks to the cutting filter and IR illuminators, effective at distances of up to 15 Meters. The camera is protected with an IP66 rating cover to ensure it can withstand adverse weather conditions.
Each camera is connected to the PC with Internet access that each patrol has to access the updated databases that provide the identification of the boards. Operation is simple: when agents locate a car, the system sends real-time data to the Integral Video Signal Center (Cisevi) and the Integrated Security and Emergency Centre in Madrid (Cisem), corroborating up-to-date data to improve speed in police action.
