Aena awards Vitelsa the maintenance of the security and access control systems of Fuerteventura airport
Vitelsa Security and Control is responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of IP video surveillance systems, access control and voice and radio communications at Fuerteventura airport.
Fuerteventura Airport received 2013 more than four million visitors, being the eleventh in Spain and the third in the Canary Islands for passenger traffic. In 2008 the project to remodel the passenger terminal begins, where Vitelsa Security and Control participated in providing and integrating state-of-the-art video surveillance and access control systems. Currently the airport has significant international traffic and has 66 check-in desks and 24 gates, in addition to 12 direct access gateways to aircraft.
Recently, Aena has awarded Vitelsa Security and Control the technical maintenance of safety systems, access control and voice and radio communications of the Canary Airport.
The improvements proposed by Vitelsa Security and Control have been key to the award of the tender, as well as the qualification of the team of engineers and technical operators, with extensive experience in maintaining and implementing security and communications technologies.
The service contract has a duration of 12 months and under it will be carried out the preventive and corrective maintenance of the IP video surveillance systems present in the terminal, runways and other airport venues, as well as the access lathes to the boarding areas and anti-return corridors located in the arrivals area.
Additionally, the contract also provides for the provision of specialized preventive and corrective maintenance services for telephone and radio communications systems installed in the premises, used by airport operations and security staff.
