Sony video surveillance technology optimizes the safety of Yurikamome's transport line
By January 2016, the Yurikamome metro line will have a new video surveillance network that will ensure the safety of travelers and optimize control of the stations. Sony HD cameras have been the solution of choice for this project.
The Yurikamome train line in Tokyo Bay is updating its video surveillance system and for the new technological alternative it has opted for Sony. With this renovation, operators will be able to control images in real time and ensure the safety of travelers and good service throughout the line.
This project, the completion of which is scheduled for January 2016, will have more than 200 Sony HD network cameras to be installed on the 16 stations on the Yurikamome line. All will be controlled from a custom central monitoring station built by Sony.
Transport environments can present numerous safety risks, as bustling crowds can cover potential crimes. As a result, the transport sector has very specific video surveillance needs: require sharp and reliable images of crowded areas and under any lighting condition.
Sony cameras were selected for the Yurikamome line for their innovative View-DR technology, combining multiple images taken with different exposure values to deliver a crisp final image. When combined with dynamic light response technology and image stabilizer, consistent high-quality images are achieved, even in changing weather and lighting conditions, like the reflections of sunlight, cloudy days or night conditions.
This update to the video surveillance solution comes in response to new commercial investment in the Tokyo Bay Area in recent years, that has increased the influx of passengers to the area.
This is one of the main transport lines in the area, that joins central Tokyo with Odaiba, so the number of users on the Yurikamome line is expected to increase. Sony video surveillance solutions help ensure safety on this driverless automatic train journey.
Complete Sony solution:
In the stations they will be installed 202 NETWORK HD cameras, 94 box cameras, 64 dome and 44 PTZ teams. In addition, in the central administration there will be a monitoring system that will be responsible for the management of all this video surveillance infrastructure.
