Mediclinic uses Axis cameras to improve patient safety and protect the healthcare facility

The infrastructure that Mediclinic has installed in its health center, based on Axis cameras, offers a new application environment for security systems as a video surveillance solution and medical monitoring tool.

Mediclinic is a health center that offers a wide range of services for prevention, diagnosis and therapy. That Italian entity needed an infrastructure that would allow it to protect, efficiently and effectively, technological investments and, at the same time, provide better patient care. To this end,, chose Openview, a company specialized in technology consulting for health centers, to supervise the implementation of the project, and Lan & Wan Solutions to take care of the technical part.

The infrastructure implemented had to secure both the internal and external part of the building, except for spaces protected by privacy. The technology of Axis Communications was the solution adopted for this video surveillance system. In total they have been implanted 60 cameras with HDTV resolution of which 18 are installed on the outside of the health center and the rest, located in the interior, have the dual mission of securing facilities and remotely monitoring the status of patients. The system allows simultaneous monitoring in several areas of the clinic, ensuring greater safety for patients as it is possible to respond to emergency situations.

For the outdoor areas, two Axis Q1604-E fixed cameras have been used, two fixed in dome format P3367-VE and 14 P3364-VE dome systems. The former offer a dynamic range that provides sharp images of people and objects even in extreme lighting conditions.. For its part, the P33 series is equipped with the P-Iris system that allows optimal images in any light condition, In addition, the P3364-VE integrates Lightfinder technology that preserves colors even in low light.

Inside, Mediclinic has mobile systems that are used, especially, to support medical staff to provide better patient care and monitor patient status. And, to do that, ultra-compact minucupulose cameras have been used. They have been urged 13 Models Axis M3004-V, 24 Axis 3005-V and five M5014 models. The M3004-V and M3005-V offer a horizontal viewing angle of 80° and 118°, Respectively; while the M5014 is pTZ dome system place that stands out for its discretion when it comes to being in stalada. Mounted on the roof allows a coverage of 400 square meters, with a rotation of ± 180°, a 90° tilt and a 3x digital zoom.
