Vivotek's compact and small VS8100 video server facilitates the transition from analog surveillance systems to IP network environments.

Vivotek VS8100

Vivotek has announced its IP video surveillance solution VS8100, a compact small equipment suitable for front-end installations such as offices, retail stores, banks and city surveillance. The design of this H.264 1-CH video server allows easy migration to move from an analog system to a digital system.

With the evolution of network technology and an increase in demand for high-resolution images, IP cameras have become the driving force of the security market. While the ip camera market continues to expand, the transition from analog to digital systems is taking place more slowly due to the current installed base. Vivotek video servers act as facilitators for this migration of CCTV to IP surveillance systems. Through these solutions, data received from the analog camera can be encoded and broadcast over an IP network to monitor and record.

The compact design of the Vivotek VS8100 system, no bigger than that of a human finger, enables deployment in a variety of applications. To this is added the possibility of being able to work with an existing 12V DC power supply from an analog camera. High-performance H.264 compression format is capable of reducing the size of video files, enabling maximum efficiency bandwidth and storage capacity optimization. In addition, by supporting multiple simultaneous transmissions, video streams can be streamed in H.264 or MJPEG format for versatile applications.

“In the last decade, we have witnessed a revolution that has occurred in the video surveillance sector. With the increasing maturity of IP technology and the availability of new infrastructures, end-user behavior has changed and the market is evolving towards new technologies. Despite the development of IP surveillance products, transforming existing analog legacy systems is not going to be a quick process. However, users with analog systems who want to take advantage of the scalability and functionality provided by IP cameras can do so with our new VS8100 video server, which is an ideal springboard for IP surveillance”, explains Steve Ma, Vivotek executive vice president.
