Sony unveils five new IP cameras with Ipela Engine signal processing technology
Multinational Sony has expanded its range of IP cameras with five new models, W-series and the SNC-VB635, incorporating their Ipela Engine signal processing system.
The new networked video surveillance cameras reinforce the offer of Sony for outdoor applications and expand the company's range of mid-range products to new markets.
In this sense, the new V-series models are suitable for demanding video surveillance applications in large areas, while the SNC-VB635 network camera is specially designed for environments with extremely low light conditions.
Ryan Kawashima, Sony Europe's strategic marketing manager for video surveillance, points out that this technological development responds to the company's philosophy of "continually looking for ways to expand and improve its product offering, and all of them meet the specific needs of the video surveillance sector, where Sony is, Again, industry leader in camera features and image quality".
The five new models include the Ipela Engine technology platform. Specifically,, the SNC-VB635 camera incorporates Ipela Engine EX technology and the W series was the first to use Ipela Engine Pro. They also integrate Sony's View-DR wide dynamic range technologies; XDNR noise reduction and maximum frame rate (60 frames per second) at HD/full HD resolution.
The SNC-WR600 and WR602 cameras, complementing the company's W-series range, feature 30x optical zoom features; turning speed up to 700 degrees per second and wide dynamic range of 130 dB, to provide crystal clear image quality, even in environments with intense backlighting, thanks to the Ipela Engine Pro signal processing system.
The W-Series range, formed by the SNC-WR630 and WR632 cameras, they also have new features, such as gyroscopic image stabilization, unpacked images and focal plane distortion correction to provide stable images in adverse weather conditions.
The W Series includes two indoor models in HD and full HD, and two outdoors in fully integrated HD and full HD, IP66 and IK ratings 10, to withstand vandalism and very water resistant, suitable for demanding video surveillance applications in large areas, like airports, stadiums and casinos, as well as for urban areas and perimeters.
The SNC-WR630 and WR632 (full HD) will be available through Sony's product distribution channel from next December, while HD models will begin commercialization in January 2013.
Maximum light sensitivity
Thanks to its high light sensitivity and full HD resolution, the SNC-VB635 camera has been designed for the most demanding applications, as urban video surveillance, transport and energy facilities. This fixed camera includes a 1/2-inch Exmor CMOS sensor and generates exceptional image quality, even in low-light conditions.
SNC-VB635, which will be available on the market in December 2013, also has real day/night function, Ipela Engine EX technology, View-DR, XDNR, See, DEPA Advanced and an RS-485 port for head rotation and tilt control.
