JVC cameras are the foundation of new York's Resorts World casino security system
The global management of the video surveillance system of the Resorts World casino in New York is carried out by a Synetics VMS team and JVC cameras.
The Resorts World casino in New York City, that attracts more than 20.000 visitors per day and up to 30.000 on weekends, has installed near 200 Cameras Jvc high-definition network as the first phase of an expansion plan for your global security facility. The overall management of the video surveillance system is carried out by means of a VMS equipment of Synetics and JVC cameras are connected using the Onvif protocol (Open Network Video Interface Forum).
Jason Arnett, Deputy Director of Security indicates that the casino environment is constantly changing, demanding a lot from the video surveillance system, because slots and electronic gaming boards are under frequently changed light conditions. "The contrast in the lighting conditions that the cameras must suffer caused devastating effects on the visualization of the images". In addition, the interior of the Resorts World casino has the added difficulty that it contains floor-to-ceiling windows along the side of the resort, so daylight is also altered. However,, JVC Professional Products Company cameras have been able to reproduce the images at a 30 Crisp and clear FPS.
In the checkout area, the HD images provided by JVC's cameras contain a degree of enhancement that even allows the texts on the banknotes to be read, something that previous cameras did not allow, with very high color quality.
Although the casino opened in 2011 using Sanyo cameras exclusively, the security board decided to expand the system using JVC's cameras late last year. During the first tests that were carried out with the JVC cameras, these showed a reddish hue, according to certain lighting conditions. To solve the problem, JVC engineers developed a special version of external software that solved it and made it easier for video surveillance operators to control the cameras in parameters such as lighting, Color Settings, or the level of backlight correction.
Like other casinos of its characteristics, New York's Resorts World has an IP network infrastructure built on top of several virtual LANs. New tools made by JVC allow operators to adjust the different parameters of the cameras on any of the virtual LANs. "JVC also programmed several presets that were designed specifically for the casino environment.", Arnett comments.
The casino has installed the VN-H657WPU outdoor PTZ dome camera models, together with VN-H257U indoor domes. Both chambers have day/night capability, Super LoLux HD technology for accurate colour reproduction in low light and Full HD 1920 resolution×1080. The VN-H657WPU outdoor model also incorporates a continuous rotation mechanism of 360 degrees and a direct-drive motor that provides smooth and precise pan/tilt movements.
More than a year after its installation, The results have been so successful that the company that owns the casino has started using them in other of its casinos, the World Bimini Resorts in the Bahamas and the Bimini SuperFast, a vessel carrying up to 1500 passengers from Miami to the casino area.
