VaelsysVaelsys, Software company specializing in image analysis systems, has announced the successful implementation of its ViFence City intelligent video analytics system in Cannes (France). In order to improve road and citizen safety, The police of this city use the software developed by the Spanish company for the recognition of license plates. Cannes is one of the most important tourist destinations in the world and has almost 300 cameras with which the police have been able to solve conflicts up to 1.400 times a year.

The system chosen was ViFence City, by the Spanish company Vaelsys. So he explains: Cannes Police, "We evaluated other solutions from competitors, but they required modifications to the installation already carried out, which required adding material, with the risk of failure that this entails. Our decision was clear and made us opt for Vaelsys, as it integrated seamlessly with our Sinovia video management software".

The solution proposed by Vaelsys included the installation of automatic license plate reading on public roads with a high success rate (above the 90%) and the use of citizen video surveillance cameras that had not specifically been designed for the detection of license plates. In addition to this, there is high-quality vehicle recording that allows brand identification, Model and color of the same, along with the possibility of cross-referencing the data on the identified license plates with the police databases.

Rapidity, Efficiency and control

ViFence City has managed to increase the speed of action by automating the detection of suspicious vehicle license plates and increasing the effectiveness of the security system by being alert 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without rest or distractions. Also, High-quality per-event recording reduces video search times and storage needs without sacrificing information or detail.

As pointed out by the Cannes police: "The tool helps the operator to make decisions. It is now possible to speed up the search for recordings in case you know a certain license plate or part of it. In addition, the adaptability shown by Vaelsys with our video management software, Synovia, allows us to use a single interface, integrating all operations and simplifying their use".

Carolina Caballero, Head of Marketing at Vaelsys, has targeted: "For us it is essential to work according to the quality objectives of the projects we carry out. The license plate recognition system has been installed in citizen video surveillance cameras already located in the city, Getting, One more time, An optimal solution, saving costs and improving the quality of the system already installed".
