Staff at The Orlen Lietuva Lithuanian Oil Refinery in Mazeikiai (Lithuania), it now has access to new information about its vast territory that was previously impossible to gather. Thanks to the distributed architecture of
IndigoVision and your IP video solution, the refinery has been able to add cameras in distant areas that until now could not be reached.

Before indigovision cameras were placed, the Orlen Lietuva refinery had 256 analog cameras through its immense facilities. The system was reaching its maximum capacity and expansion was difficult, due to the cost of wiring and the problem of distances if the old technology was maintained.

solution

IndigoVision's local partner, Euroelektronika, suggested a solution by IP that would help reach the most remote sites, would allow more people to see video broadcasts and give access to security and procedural information, in addition to being in charge of the surveillance. Ninety of the original cameras were reused when connecting with IndigoVision encoders, along with 12 Dome cameras PTZ HD by IP of IndigoVision. the other existing cameras are still connected to the analog network, and will switch to the IP network over the course of the next five years. Without IndigoVision's open architecture, this hybrid solution would not have been possible.

The distributed architecture of the IndigoVision solution allowed network video recorders to be placed (Nvr) closer to the cameras, which reduced the load on the network. Remote sites that are located at
more than 100 miles away. The activity-driven frame rate per second function (Acf) of IndigoVision cameras significantly reduces network traffic.

Thanks to Control Center, IndigoVision's security management software, operators can view live and recorded images using workstations in five departments. Video recorded from multiple cameras can be viewed in the same viewing window and can be synchronized. These operations are using the network for more than just surveillance.: they can check the position of the valves and see that there are no leaks in the pipes, in addition to monitoring security procedures.

Bronius Balciunas, director of safety and corporate control at the Orlen Lietuva refinery, has declared: "IndigoVision's IP video solution has transformed our operations. We can cover remote areas that were previously out of reach, and give access to the video to any operator who needs it. The ability to monitor valve position and pipe leaks, as well as verifying that staff follow security procedures, saves us many man-hours, and all with the click of the mouse. Overall installation costs were significantly reduced with the use of existing networks”.
