The manufacturer of safety systems, IndigoVision, has brought out an update to its OPC integration module for data access servers, allowing communication between IndigoVision's SMS4TM system and OPC-compliant customers. OPC is a series of standard specifications to enable open interoperability between process control systems and automated industrial mechanisms, such as alarm and building management systems.

IndigoVision's updated OPC integration module for data access servers v2.0 is part of the OPC integration suite, allowing OPC-compliant customer events and alarms, like SCADA (Data acquisition and supervisory control, (English)) or BMS (Building management systems) transmitted with IndigoVision's own SMS4TM system.

The updated OPC integration module for data access servers controls the transfer of SMS4TM system events and alarms into these third-party industrial control systems, generating real-time alerts when indigoVision's system reports an alarm or when detector devices, Analytical, failures or sources of third-party alarms are triggered or restored. This integration has already been successfully implemented in large-scale industrial energy utilities, allowing events such as open doors or network loss or video to be passed and processed through SCADA or BMS operators.

John Semple, IndigoVision's head of product management, Explained: "This integration with IndigoVisionb's SMS4TM provides a much stronger end-to-end solution that enables event handling by appropriate staff, and ensures the efficiency of operations".

IndigoVision's OPC integration module is compatible with any alarm field controller, Access, processes or buildings with an OPC interface and can be installed on any pc that is networked. A powerful and flexible configuration that is transmitted through an easy-to-use interface.
